About: Kamani Perera is currently working as the Librarian/Research Officer of the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies, Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has over 20years library experience at Tea Research Institute and Rubber Research Institute in Sri Lanka. She has presented papers on automated library system and conducted library user seminars regionally. She underwent training on computerized library system in Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand and Military Library Training at National Defense University, Washington DC, USA. She has also presented papers on digital library sector nationally and internationally and compiled several cumulative indexes and bibliographies. She has visited Thailand, India, USA and Greece for trainings/paper presentations on digital library sector.

Her papers have been accepted for presentation in International Conferences held in India, Egypt, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Greece, USA, and UK. Her paper on “Traditional Systems on Knowledge Organization in Digital Environment” presented for the International Conference on Digital libraries, (ICDL 2006), 5-8 Dec. 2006, New Delhi.
